Our in-house treatability studies are recommended as part of the treatment design.
With testing performed in our in-house laboratory, Eden routinely recommends treatability studies in order to determine the most effective chemical treatment process and dosing. These studies are specifically designed to aid the client in field applications and generally involve basic batch runs (jar tests) versus more elaborate column tests used in research funded projects.
Batch reactors are created using soil and groundwater slurries from the “hottest” zones combined with chemical amendments. They are allowed to incubate for fixed time periods. Contaminant destruction is then evaluated using third party laboratory testing.
Treatability studies are most often performed for oxidant selection and typically require 30 to 45 days to complete. Longer test durations are generally required for chemical reductants and bio-amendments. The findings of the treatability studies are used by Eden professionals to develop preliminary treatment / conceptual designs.

Have questions?
Eden Remediation offers multiple methods using a wide range of chemicals, microbes and nutrients to determine the best solution for remediating your site. Contact us to get started with these suggestions:
- Start with a good estimate of cleanup mass and volume
- Choose the right chemistry and application
- Treatability testing may be beneficial
- Design a “best-fit” strategy (“zoned” treatment approach)
